Ts212 which server?
Ts212 which server allows to classify and retrieve video working on a ts212? I use twonky but it seems not good for this.

Re: Ts212 which server?
Hi, i'd know which multimedia server allows to tag video rec with some keywords and then retrieve rec by these keywords. And working on a Ts212.
I use twonky but it doesn't seem to allow what i wish.
I don't know if simple DLNA allows it (p.e. by classification but i don't know how to fill in Classification item).
I know that Plex is ok, but it doesn't work on my ts212 who is too poor for it, i suppose.
thx

Re: Ts212 which server?
I'm not sure where Twonky pulls it's metadata from, but perhaps if it uses thetvdb.com and some non-english shows may not be present. First go to https://www.thetvdb.com/ and search for your show there. If it's there, then it should be able to pull up the metadata.
Second I don't use twonky so I can't say for sure, but most programs like Plex and inFuse will use only the filename to correlate metadata. I format all my filenames to conform to Infuse's standard and bot plex and infuse find 99% of my movies just fine without manual tagging, here's how you can format filenames: https://support.firecore.com/hc/en-us/a ... tadata-101 But again, I don't use twonky so I'm not sure if they want the same formatting. I can't seem to find anything from twonky in regards to how they want their files to be named.
For TV series you can use advanced renamer to quickly rename batches of files in a folder. I use it, and it's free: https://www.advancedrenamer.com/
Plex IMO is really good in your situation, But you would need to use a separate computer for plex. If you have a spare old laptop laying around, or you can buy a used computer on ebay(that's what I did) with adequate specs to run plex.

Re: Ts212 which server?
In that case, at least for Infuse and maybe plex, there is a button to enable internal (offline) metadata. Perhaps twonky is the same.
You would need some sort of example or document of how metadata is formatted for Twonky, perhaps in an xml file or something. I can't seem to find any documents on google for this, perhaps someone else can chime in here.

the answer is "nothing that runs on you old EOL qnap unit" ... sorry
with workarounds already given of using an external server (for e.g. plex)

Re: Ts212 which server?
I'm using a Lenovo M73 with a core i5 4570T processor, which I purchased on ebay used for <$150. It's a great plex server for 1080p content, and can serve up 2 fully software transcoded streams just fine. It only uses 14 watts at idle, and up to about 40watts while transcoding. 14 watts at idle ends up being about $1-$2 per month in electricity at 12 cents per KWH. Plex will fetch the metadata automatically, but if you want to program your own metadata you can follow their guide here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/200220 ... 1551118846
Plex is free for use inside your house using CPU transcoding. When using hardware transcoding, that's when you have to pay for plex pass. But the i5 4570T can handle 2 cpu transcode streams just fine.

Re: Ts212 which server?
a unit that would run plex ... x64 would be best (software transcoding needs more horsepower than hardware)
