Remove files from TV via DLNA

Post by JustSomeUser »

I have QNAP TS-251D. Firmware 5.0.0.1858.
I am using DLNA Media server.
Client is LG OLED65CX with latest firmware and all updates.

Is it possible somehow achieve possibility to remove photos by using TV remote (currently remove option is disabled on TV). DLNA user have RW permissions to Photos folder and subfolders.

It seems that DLNA doesn't support any "edit-type" command.

The multimedia streaming add-on contains a setting for "user" which is the user that is used to display photos, videos or music for the DLNA service.
If you create a user called "DLNA" or "TVStreaming" then set the Streaming Add-On to that user then you will have full control over which files are shown via DLNA onto your TV (by controlling the permissions for that user)

It is also possible to use different users for different receivers so you can have a KidsTVStreaming for one room and an GrownupTVStreaming for another room so a kids room shows cartoons and another room has movies and dramas and more variety.
