New Logitech Media Server install on TS119

Post by bodrick65 »

Happy New Year all
I have put a new SSD in my TS119 and need to install LMS, but I am getting very confused looking at all the posts as to what can be installed on a TS119, how to do it and where to get the files from as most of the links don't seem to work for me.
I was using LMS 7.7.2 which was downloaded from the appcentre at the time, but that doesn't seem to be available now.
Any help with simple instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards, Keith

Thanks Dolbyman

I did find this and tried to install it, but it didn't work, I think because the TS119 isn't "86/i*86/X86_64/arm5te/armhf/aarch64/arm_64 architecture", but this is just one of a few things I am not sure about.

Cheers, Keith

No idea..if x19 throws an error (correct build for your device) it might be time to upgrade

I did run the LMS QPKG on a TS-119 many years ago, and it did run (but barely) as the 119 is way underpowered. Depending of course on how big your music library is.
Besides, the 119 has been EOL for many years, and is no longer maintained with security patches and updates. So, as @dolbyman says; You should consider upgrading. Then look for a x86_64 server and choose the container version of LMS (my advise).

Your TS-119 requires QPKGs built for ARM5TE.

Thank you all for the guidance.
I would like to stick with the TS119 if possible, especially as I have just got a new SSD for it.
OneCD, any idea where I could get the "QPKGs built for ARM5TE" please?

It's available on the QnapClub store (@dolbyman has already provided a link to this site.) You'll need the TS-ARM-X19 download.

Thank you all for the support and patience.
As is probably normally the case, it was mostly user error!
Before posting, I must have somehow downloaded the wrong file which it kept trying to install each time I rebooted.
To cut a long story short, after wiping the SSD and doing a completely fresh install (restoring to factory default didn’t even fix it) the current version (2.25) of LMS still wouldn’t install (a perl error), but the previous version 2.21 did and is working well.
So a bit embarrassed, but happy to have my music system back up and running.
Thanks again, Keith

Hi

I have a new TS-253 and I am planning to install Logitech Media Server on it.

In my current set up (TS-221) I have the LMS software on the NAS and I am operating it via Logitech Touch device. I would like to maintain the same functionality.
The current version of the server in the old NAS is 7.7.3 installed years ago.

Now I downloaded these:
- LogitechMediaServer_2.31.00_x86_64.qpkg
- LogitechMediaServer_2.31.00_x86.qpkg

from here:

https://www.qnapclub.eu/en/qpkg/545

Is any of these compliant to my NAS, if not what should I have ?
This NAS has an Intel Celeron processor.

Sofar I have not done anything but just downloaded the files.

How are these installed ?

Any help would be appreciated.
