Twonky with QuTS Hero?

Post by RobertoD »

Can Twonky be installed on QuTS Hero? if so, how would I do that please?
I have a TS-673A with h5.0.0

When I tried Kazoo, it could not offer a music folder to be selected.

I searched for the qpkg on QNAPs website, but twonky was not offered for QuTS h5. Would I be right to say that you installed the QTS qpkg?

Ta very much for your help.
I downloaded and installed the x86 qpkg, bought a licence from QNAP's licence store, but I got the error Activation failed – your NAS does not support this licence.
Would you have any suggestions?

you downloaded the qnap qpkg and not the twonky one?

you can only activate the qnap qpkg with the qnap license and vice versa

Thanks everyone for your help and replies.
So I need to remove the Twonky that I downloaded from QNAP's website and throw away the QNAP licence (which I bought from QNAP).
Btw, QNAP confirmed in their ticket that their version of Twonky is for QTS only.

I nip on to the Twonky website, download their qpkg, buy a licence from them and all will be well?

Hi Dolbyman,
I have the QNAP licence (QTS only was available) and the QNAP qpkg.

Simon and Reborn44, may I just check how you installed Twonky please? Was it a qpkg from Twonky with a licence from Twonky themselves?

Twonky with QuTS Hero?

Post by Toxic17 »

My license was bought from Twonky and not from the Qnap store. It’s worked for many years, and even on QTS Hero v5

My Qpkg File is from Twonky downloads too
