Is it possible to build your own 'iCloud photo backup'?
The ideal workflow would be:
- Whenever iPhone A connects via Wifi:
- perform a backup of the new pictures onto NAS in a folder 'iPhone A'
- afterwards these Fotos are sorted automatically in daily folders like 'iPhone A / 2022 / 03 / 25 ' and so on
--> preferably only WiFi Router and NAS should be required to be up and running, no 3rd party iOS/Android/Windows or Mac Client like https://apps.apple.com/us/app/photosync ... tform=ipad
What needs to be configured and where?
automatic iOS photo backup via WiFi possible?

Re: automatic iOS photo backup via WiFi possible?
Do you see any response ? Weird question
OP might want to contact apple/ app support for specifcs of that app and the setup..The QNAP would just present the SMB storage nothing else

Re: automatic iOS photo backup via WiFi possible?
Let me tell you how...
Install DSM7 via visualization station and use the app called synology photos on your iPhone. It has the ability to sync photos at background same as Google Photos and OneDrive.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Don't blame Apple, blame QNAP and it's s u c k apps like Qumagie.

Re: automatic iOS photo backup via WiFi possible?
Sad affair when people discover that their ARM based NAS does not support virtualisation... to virtualize another NAS OS (overkill much?)
There must be programs that can backup to SMB from an Iphone .. forget the QNAP apps and just use one of those
Something like this
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id1126282325

QFile actually does that, except the different folders.
I am using the feature since long time.
Have you tried it?
