Are you wanting to upload photos from Phone (unknown brand) to Google Photos or from QNAP NAS to Google Photos?

https://photos.google.com/apps

Qphoto can sync to your nas, your nas can sync with Google photos

You need to install an App on the NAS.

Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) then goto

Sync, Select One Way or Two-way Sync, Select Cloud, then Google Drive. Google Drive should be linked to Google Photos.

no its not, I am giving you another option.

Use the Google Photos App on your phone. that uploads to Google Photos (the website)

then if you want the photos on your NAS, have the NAS sync one way ie backup the photos listed in Google Drive.

Why not try the new released Backup and Sync app by Google to sync files to Google drive? https://www.multcloud.com/tutorials/goo ... -1234.html :D
This app is designed for Google users to backup files to Google cloud and sync cloud files to local device.

Nothing working... if you use any app or interface to backup your photos/videos from QNAP to GoogleDrive, its use your limited space.
GoogleDrive now is "Backup and Sync" and there are a new software to install in your windows. With this software you can send photo/video from your computer (not NAS) to google photos cloud and you use the ilimited space from google photos. (similar like your mobile android does)

So, any QNAP APP to send photos/videos to Google Photos will use your contrated space - there is no way to use "googlephotos ilimited space"

If I am wrong, please send how to do to use ilimited space from googlephotos.

ps. sorry my english.

Bye, bye

Have you submitted a Helpdesk ticket to QNAP requesting the feature enhancements?

You can upload the photos to Google Photos via the hybrid sync via google drive as long as you set your google drive account to share the folder. I did it myself for a while but I noticed it doesn't give any choice on converting them them to high quality which takes zero of your free Google drive quota like the app does. So i found it it completely used up all my accounts storage and locked me out. QNAP need to be able to call on this feature.

A solution for backing up to Google Photos is truly a must for QNAP. Since your products are largely aimed at photographers/videographers, the fundamental changes in the Google storage ecosystem should not be overlooked. GP is changing the entire landscape of cloud-based photo storage. If QNAP doesn't, at minimum, already have a back-up/sync plan on their roadmap, it'd be a sign of a systemic failure within. Suggesting a help desk ticket on this, is like an auto manufacturer telling a customer to submit a ticket when the emissions standards across the world have changed. You kind of expect them to be paying attention and planning a remedy...

I only want to download (one-way) from google photos? I have an old phone that i can't access. Most photos seem to have uploaded to Google photos. Will the photo taken date be wrong if downloaded to qnap NAS from google photo?

With google backup and sync on my windows computer I can add the qnap photos directory I have shared, but after a long time scanning it the google backup program reports there are '0 mb" to sync and does nothing.

Like many others I need this, I have photos on my NAS that need backing up and I don't have the money for a second NAS, of all my data the photos are thing that most need an off site backup.

The ones from my phone are uploaded automatically but the photos directory on the NAS is for the whole family and uses cameras too. I need to back that up to my wife and my google photos account.

We basically need a QNAP app that will work as "google backup and sync" and let us select directories straight on the NAS rather than having to mount things on windows first in any way. (if that makes sense)
