Is gapless playback supported and working?

Post by bobk88 »

Hi,

I'm looking to replace my Synology NAS soon, and am considering QNAP (probably TS-251A or 251+). Primary use is for music library hosting.

My question is: is gapless playback of MP3, AAC and Apple Lossless files officially supported via QNAP's iOS apps and Air Play?

And if it's supported, does it actually work?

I'm asking because Synology includes it in its features list, but it's been broken for months - and there's no fix in sight.

Thanks!

Bob

use any media player of your choice with any serving method of your choice

within LAN
Server: DLNA,SMB,Plex, etc
Player: KODI,Plex,VLC,etc

outside of LAN (dangerous! ...use VPN)
Server: Plex,VPN.etc.
Player: Plex,etc

Got it.

But I'm looking for testimonials from people who are actually successfully using gapless playback with those file formats hosted on a QNAP NAS. If someone has it working with a non-QNAS app, please specify the app and version.

Thanks!
