Qmusic keeps HDD spinning/making noise

Hi all,

Maybe I have overlooked it, but could not find an answer in the forum on my question.

The issue:

I have connected my QNAP TS-251 HDMI output to my AV receiver Onkyo TX-578. My QNAP is running QTS 4.3.5, My Samsung S5-Neo telephone has the Qmusic app version 2.8.0.0928.

When I start Qmusic and as an output device I select "Streaming mode" and select a song, everything works as expected (streamed to my telephone). However, when I select NAS Audio output (Audio HDMI) my HDD starts spinning/making noise. Even before selecting and streaming a song! When I select a song it streams to the AV-receiver though, but the HDD noise is annoying, also because the NAS is in the same room as the speakers. Returning to "Streaming mode" will stop the HDD's making noise.

Any ideas?

Move the NAS to another room or increase the volume on the Onkyo.
