Qmusic Android: how do you scroll down if the list is thousands of items?

Post by YetAnotherLondoner »

I haven't yet bought my NAS so I can't test it myself.

As per the subject, is there a way to easily find stuff (eg a specific artist) when the list is thousands of items? There was a feature request
viewtopic.php?f=178&t=125343&p=701819&h ... ll#p701819
to add an alphabetical list on the right, so that you could go to, say, letter S for Santana immediately, without scrolling through thousands of items first. Has it been implemented? If I know I want to play Santana I can search for it, but having a quicker way to browse would be convenient, too.

I hadn't, actually, thanks for the link. It gives a useful idea of how it works. However, it doesn't give a sense for how fast or not the app is when browsing and searching very large libraries. It may seem a banal point, but many DLNA clients are so slow they're actually unusable when browsing large libraries. Do you have a sense for that? Have you ever compared Qmusic vs Synology Ds Audio, for instance?

I also found this video on the same youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rstu8kLkchg
but I didn’t really follow the points they were making: both apps support Chromecast Audio (which is what I’ll use – Android app as ‘remote’ to play to Chromecast speakers) and both apps let you browse by folder level. Or are there some key differences I have missed? Fast searches and browsing my multiple criteria is key to me.

Thanks for your time!
