QMobile idea

Post by jasongrant15 »

Just wanted to throw out my two cents for QMobile. First i am very excited for this product. One issue with these types of products (synologys) is for people who do not have a static ip. I wrote a little app for myself so I can retrieve my ip remotely, I believe this is similar to slingbox where your ip is sent to their servers along with an account identifier. This way your ip is always known. This is probably already been thought of but I just wanted to post on the topic. Thanks for all your hard work and for the communities for all the great documentation.

Hi jasongrant15,
for non-static IPs, you can simply apply for a free DDNS account, which will record your dynamic IPs and gives you a reachable host name address that's always the same.

QMobile works with DDNS address.

Well thats a slap to the face! How dumb I feel... i visited that site but for some reason passed it up. I have created a worthless tool!!! Awesome that this product works with DDNS and don't know why I did not think of this. Great work!
