Configuration needed Windows-side for iSCSI? Intel X520 says 'NoTraffic' for IPv4...

Post by a13antichrist »

Hi friends,

Have set up a LUN & target on my TS-470pro but Windows refuses to connect - says always 'Connection failed' no matter what I try. This is a new connection, never been mapped before.
Am using dedicated NICs on isolated, non-routed VLAN on a Mikrotik switch and can pass SMB plus non-fragmented jumbo-frame ping between the Windows host and QNAP - so the link itself is up and alive, that much I'm sure of. Have configured the switch to log all iSCSI traffic also, but so far haven't seen any log come up in it though.
Also on QNAP connection logging, iSCSI is selected and logging is Started, but also hasn't reported any connection, failed or otherwise.
Then 10.202.202.Windows FW is open and configured to allow iSCSI service outbound so I'm unsure exactly where to look now for the issue.

I'm 99% sure it's a Windows issue of some variety but don't really see now where to keep looking.. have tried IPv4, IPv6, netbios name & any other options the MS iSCSI initiator gives me.. have disabled all CHAP, ACL & Initiator controls for now just to try to get the thing running.. but still no joy. Have configured the Qnap target IP in both Targets tab and Discovery in iSCSIadm.cpl, and have tried both 'default' & Microsoft iSCSI initiator options both with & without specifying IP src/dstns.

NICs are Intel X520-DA1 Windows-side and Mellanox mcx312a QNAP-side, if that helps anything. Any help greatly appreciated...

So I got it partly isolated. Actually the IPv6 is working - I'm able to map the LUN across that.

ICMPv4 is working fine. TCPv4 is not. It looks like it's linked to the Intel X520, since even in Windows it says 'NoTraffic' under Get-NetConnectionProfile for IPv4. Is this anything known or dealt with before?
