Can Not Delete Error or Locked LUN

Post by Nouris »

Hi,
I was going to delete a LUN but when I deleted it, it stayed in Removing...100% state.
First, I restarted the device, but the status did not change, then I upgraded the firmware, and the status changed to "Error or Blocked" as shown in attachment, and now it cannot be mapped to the target or deleted.
How can I delete it?

May you did not wait long enough?
Anyhow, doing reboots/firmware updates when such operations are ongoing is the worst decision you can do!
I am always wondering why, if an unexpected issue occurs, a reboot or update should fix this? A NAS is a bit different than a common PC.
Best option is may be to create a ticket at support and ask for assistance.

I waited for almost 2 hours, but apparently it was not enough.
I registered a ticket, Qnap Technical Team restored the iscsi settings and then I was able to delete the LUN.
Best Regards.
