QNAP TS-653 Pro wont unmap Lun

Post by primey2000 »

Hi,
This is a first time post and my QNAP has been performing flawlessly until recently and has started to really misbehave.
All LUNS are iSCSI targets and have been fine but now I need to perform some management on them and the QNAP is basically saying "no".

I am trying to unmap a 3TB LUN so I can delete it. I can confirm it is not being used as it is disabled but the interface sits at "Please wait" for a couple of minutes before throwing up and "Unknown Error" dialogue box.

The QNAP hasnt been rebooted in while a few weeks but is running fairly up to date firmware

Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Regards,
Paul

Do other LUNs share the same target, is there just one?

No other luns. Just the one Lun/target which I want to delete.
I have unmapped and deleted some other luns. Just this one is stuck

Can't you stop the ISCSI service, then try to unmap/delete?

Unfortunately no. There is a HyperV host and Hyper V cluster running on it so I cant take it offline with ease.

Hang on you just told me this is the last LUN, so why can't you take it offline. Makes no sense.

God, you don't make it easy, delete the target then (if that LUN has that specific target!!!). It should kill the mapping. Then delete the LUN.
