iSCSI LUN cannot resize
Good Morning,
today I have a question about resizing ISCSI Luns on a 659 QNAP Storage.
LUN is full and Status is error.
resize LUN fails without any message.
I´ve created a new LUN without problems and resize the new LUN is possible.
How can I resize the full LUN or set OK

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
No information, what firmware, what type of LUN, what firmware was it created under (not what is firmware now)?
Did you disconnect the LUN before attempting to expand?
Resize what to what?
Give us a clue...

Firmwareversion 4.2.2
Resizing after attempting
LUN is for backup and backup Software said no space left on device.

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
So is there space in the volume the LUN was created in? Thin LUNs sit in volumes so even if there is space in the pool it will make no difference unless you first expand that volume.

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
The volume has free space. I´ve create a new lun on the same volume and extend the new lun for testing, all OK
in my ssh session I see that under /share/MD0_DATA/.@iscsi.img all LUNs
-rw------- 1 admin administ 262.0G Nov 10 10:26 iSCSI-BackupLUN-4f60dfbd.002
-rw------- 1 admin administ 1.0T May 21 2015 iSCSI-BackupLUN-555dce15.000

-rw------- 1 admin administ 50.0G Nov 9 17:08 iSCSI-Lun-Test02-58234a08.000
iSCSI-Lun-Test02 is my Test LUN
is it correct that the other files are snapshots?
I´don´t unterstand it because my LUN with Name iSCSI-BackupLUN is 512GB.

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
Did you try disconnecting the LUN from the target first, then try to expand? Sounds like it is locked.

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
Perhaps, you should send screenshots of the RAID group/volume and LUN screens/targets.
Nothing obvious why you can't expand unless you're missing off some important information.
What are you trying to expand to (size to size)?
Did you create those LUN backups?

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
I´ve never create LUN-Backups
snapshot-overview:
id:0 BackupLUN (512.00GB) status Fehler - other LUNs are test volumes
I cannot find the 512 GB volume on snapshot-overview.png.
for resize see attachment files resize-lun and logfile-resize

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
Sorry not sure, TS 659 is cat1 manual so doesn't use Storage Pools.
So does BackupLUN mount and viewable by the host it was previously connnected to? Does seem wrong it's missing from the .img list.
What about creating a LUN backup of it, then restore and then expand?
To expand LUNs it's "Target Management", "Modify".

Re: iSCSI LUN cannot resize
LUN backup fails.
I´ve deleted all LUNs and Snapshot and created a new one. All OK.
It would have been interesting to solve the problem but it´s import to create a backup now.
Thanks for help and I wish a nice weekend
