Good day everyone,
I was wondering if it's recommended to have a whole RAID6 volume on a TS-653A as a iSCSI. 6HDD x 6TB, so around 20TB after format, and of those 20TB the highest possble size used as iSCSI as the only accessible space from primarly Win10 computers.
I'll be using a VM in the Virtualization Station, can the space allocated for that VM be on the iSCSI volume or must be on "normal" volume outside the iSCSI space?
Thanks.

Normal volume
I've not heard of mixing ISCSI functionality and VS VMs even if technically possible and would imagine performance would suffer.

Cheers for the reply.
But what about having the whole RAID volume allocated as an iSCSI? Is it recommended? Will, for example, Download Station be able to write on the iSCSI volume? What about other OS-related applications, even something "simple" as a firmware update?

If you are using internal Qnap apps stick to shares.

That's what I've thought. Thanks.
