Extended iscsi volume but 2nd win 2008 R2 can only see it as RAS with no data inside

Post by dyeung »

QNAP NAS model: TVS-1271U-RP NAS.
Firmware verison: 4.1.4 (2015/09/10)

Extended my iscsi (File based) from 8.6 TB to 10.7 TB.

On the 2 Win 2008 R2 servers that the lun is presented. Run disk management on 1st win 2008 R2 server and extended volume. It can see 10.7 TB with data inside properly. However. the 2nd win 2008 R2 server can only see it as 'RAW' without data on it. I've tried disonnect/inactive the iscsi connection and reconnect. Restarted 2nd server 'Microsoft iscsi initiator' service but no good. Any idea?

Thanks!

just to be sure...you are not trying to access one LUN from two machines at the same time ..right ?

As far as I understand this is exactly what he is doing.

Sorry iscsi is not designed for using one target with two Machines.

Yes, it is what I want. Why it is not supported or expected?

iscsi is block storage ... its like a harddisk you can have to computers use the same physical harddisk.
