TS421 with latest FW.
I have data volume with some folders shared via Samba.
Will I lost all data if I share this volume via iSCSI ?

Re: Move volume to iSCSI
only thing you can do, is create a file based iscsi and manually move/copy the files and folders over from the share ...no way to selectively move shares to iscsi without this process

Why file based? Any LUN type will do and block is always faster.dolbyman wrote:only thing you can do, is create a file based iscsi and manually move/copy the files and folders over from the share ...no way to selectively move shares to iscsi without this process

Re: Move volume to iSCSI
Cat1 manual is dire.
I'll take your word for it but manual says:
QTS offers two LUN types.
• Block-based LUN: Created from a storage pool. It is
similar to a volume, except that it has no file system and
must be linked to an iSCSI host.
• File-based LUN: Created on a volume. It is similar to an
ISO image file.
