Lost iSCSI connections after firmware update on TVS-672XT from 4.5.3 20210608 --> 4.54.1723 (20210708 & 20210726)

Hello,

I can't seem to connect my windows 10 PC anymore to the QNAP through iSCSI after the firmware updated my QNAP system past 4.5.3 20210608 firmware.

If I downgrade firmware the connections all came back so I put the upgrade on hold however an auto-update triggered not one but two updates to the latest 20210726 firmware updates.

I am unable to connect back to those iSCSI connections.

Different than before i am actually able to see the iScsi portal. (the 20210708 update made that portal not appear at all).

But CHAP and Mutual CHAP still appear to be broken as I've input the keys several times with no luck in connecting.

I have also used this command and reset all the iscsi settings and recreate them with no luck:
> storage_util --iscsi_restore_cfg

After the updates I am now simply getting Authentication failures for trying to connect to the iSCSI device.

I am unable to access my data on those LUNS which puts me at a standstill.

I have kept up to date with updates as far as I can. I am really hoping that QNAP support and programming staff understand that these types of problems cause very painful periods for customers. Rebuilding arrays and LUNS is no small order on the part of the customer if this is the solution to this case this time around. And it would be helpful to know if we have to do that AHEAD OF TIME! I have now turned off auto firmware updates!

Please test your upgrade firmware processes better before rolling it out to customers on iSCSI systems. This is very frustrating! At least tell us the new changes to iSCSI LUN access or CHAP policies or give us a way to migrate our configurations more easily.

Has anyone else had problems like this or know an easy way to solve other than rolling back firmware until this is fixed?

Thanks.

QNAP does not come here, so if you need to complain or report a bug, do so via ticket.

Thanks for letting me know.

things are working again after redoing the ACL and forcing the unauthenticated connect first by unchecking the CHAP and Mutual CHAP on the QNAP side and making a connection. Then re-adding them in. it seems to have done something to get back up and running!

I'm good to go now.
