Hi all!
The situation is the following:
- 2 QNAP TS-453BU-RP-4G
- 1 VM on a VMware host using 1 datastore
Is there a way to have redundancy for the VMware datastore using two QNAP NAS? So if a NAS goes down the datastore is "published" by the second NAS.
maybe someone has had experiences like this and can help me understand if its possible and how.
Thanks!

Re: Redundancy datastore for a VMware Datastore
IHMO - no.
As far as I know QNAP do not offer a HA solution like a cluster or something else.
You can setup a replication job between 2 NAS, i.e. a backup or a sync job.
But this is not for hot swapping. May be as a "cold standby", you may need to modify mountpoints for accessing.
In case of iSCSI you need a new mapping, and next question is if VMware accepts a new volume ID or if more steps are needed.
So again, no, no HA solution I would recommend any company to use.
