I have upgraded the 8GB memory in the TVS-673 to 40GB by adding 2x 16GB Kingston HyperX.
It was a slight puzzle about the order in the Dimm-slots.
And saw the image from below via Control Panel, System, System Status and then System Information.
According to the image should I put the memory in Slot 1 & 3, and 2 & 4. I should do that in order to get dual channel memory, which is faster, from experience.
However, I have found out that the system does not want to boot in that setting.
What works however is putting 2x 16GB either in 1&2 or 3&4 and the 2x 4GB in the other slots.
Am I doing something wrong? As the system does not want to boot.
The original memory is 2133 and what I have 2400. I would expect that the 2400 memory is running at a lower pace now. Just a bit slower.

Re: TVS-673 memory upgrade
It looks the same. Number is a bit different. HX424S14IB/16.
Going for a dual channel 32GB is also possible.
Thanks.

Re: TVS-673 memory upgrade
I found out the same.
Putting 2 x 8GB Crucial 2133 to the system. (24GB)
Works only if installed in Slot 1&2 or 3&4
If it is installed like shown in the picture, it won't boot

Re: TVS-673 memory upgrade
The issue may be due to having the 2400's in the 1 & 3 slots, it may read slot #1 to set memory speed, so if it picks up 2400, that maybe causing the issue.aarbee wrote:I have upgraded the 8GB memory in the TVS-673 to 40GB by adding 2x 16GB Kingston HyperX.

I do remember when I had 2 different memory sizes, I had to reseat the chips one time to get it to boot.
You would be better off with the 32GB of 2400 in dual channel config (1 & 3) for performance than you will likely get with the extra 8GB (which probably won't get used other than in heavy VM usage).

Re: TVS-673 memory upgrade
I have 2 Vm's running. One of them is WHS2011. And I have given it 8GB. The WHS is for a couple of database backups, and reports. Perhaps is a FSX server.
The other machine is Linux mint. Using 4GB.
It is one or the other. A bit more or a bit faster. I will consider it. I have sufficient.
