Video Encoding Hardware for TS-453D ??

Post by crosis »

NAS: Qnap TS-453D

I'm only looking to have fun with the NAS that i have. Is there a hardware video encoding card for the PCIe Gen2x2 slot to help significantly accelerate video enhancing / encoding, specifically through Topaz Video Enhance AI (or equiv) ?? I'm not interested in live stream video transcoding.

Your recommended hardware.

No video cards listed here
https://www.qnap.com/en/compatibility/? ... ategory=11

So probably best to use the NAS as a NAS and do all "enhancing" via a client machine.

Wouldn't it be possible to get something like Lenovo Thinkcentre Tiny, with 7th gen Intel Core processor, and have the Emby Server on it. Your Emby server points to NAS Share as your source for files. I am also curious about this, as this way, it extends the life of a NAS.
