QNAP NAS, UPS and Mac graceful shutdowns.

Post by CFBancroft »

Hi All,
I know it is a 4-year-old forum discussion.

What I have is QNAP TVS-872XT v 5.0.01828 and Mac mini (2018) 3.2 GHz Intel Core i7 with macOS Mojave.
And APC UPS Model is Smart-UPS 1500 ("SMT1500J" Japan version 100volt).
On the user manual, it said "Serial and USB communication can not be used simultaneously."

I did read APCUPSD... which is five years old, did not update recently.
Also, I read PFSENSE... I don't understand how it works.

One by one, QNAP with APC SMT1500J works excellent with a regular USB cable.
One by one, the Mac mini with APC SMT1500J works excellent with a regular USB cable.

Somebody can explain or direct to me the right website for me to reading,
HOW to shutdowns "PEACEFUL" all THREE together?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
