Faulty TVS-672XT keeps powering off

Post by sleepy_panda »

I looked through old threads about the known faulty TVS-x72XT motherboard issue where some people had their NAS completely stop working and not be able to power back on (e.g. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=153097&p=803936&hilit=tvs#p803936 ).

My TVS-672XT powers itself off if I run a VM or load a Container ( viewtopic.php?f=318&t=163756 ).

1) Could the issue I'm experiencing be related to the powersupply / motherboard (cracked solder) which is why it is powering itself off when faced with slightly more demanding tasks?

2) I bought my NAS new in Oct 2020 from a UK retailer, so thought it might have been one of the later batches without the issue, but I checked the motherboard and it's v1.3 Was curious, when was the 1.7 / 2.0 updated boards came out?

3) Are the 2.0 motherboard models generally issue free and reliable now?

the 1.3 and 1.7 defenitly have the issue with the 1.7 being less than the 1.3 in terms,s of red light of death. The 2.0 is their latest (that I know of in terms of this error) and would be what you want. If your serial number starts with Q18 or Q19 with an MB of 1.3 get it replaced.
