I have a TS-451D2. The RAM specs indicate DDR4 - "4 GB SO-DIMM DDR4"
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/ts-451d2/specs/hardware
Hardware Info from the actual device suggest there's an A-DATA module installed.
Adding another 4GB, can I assume the following would be a safe bet?
ADATA 4GB DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM Memory Module
• Memory: 4GB
• Module Type: SO-DIMM
• Memory Type: DDR4
• Speed: 2666MHz
• Interface: 260-pin
• IC Configuration: 512MX16

Re: Adding RAM - TS-451D2
SSH queried the NAS for ram the specs.
The only difference I can see with the RAM I found online and what's reported by the device is the speed:
from webshop: 2666MHz
on device: 2400 MT/s
Could that be an issue?

Yes, I think that module will be OK.
The specs match those indicated by the accessories store for that model NAS: https://shop.qnap.com/index.php?route=p ... ory_id=587

Re: Adding RAM - TS-451D2
Cheers, I've been searching all morning for that website.
I came across it before I bought the NAS, and couldn't find it again.
In fact, it was my recollection of the $120USD 4GB price! that made me suspicious of the $30USD A-DATA match I've managed to find.
I wouldn't think twice about mixing this in a PC, understanding that the 2666 RAM would just run at 2400.
But I wanted to make sure the same applied with the QNAP nas.
Any idea why it's sooo expensive on shop.qnap?

For the record the $30USD ram I purchased looks to be identical to the factory installed module.
8GB now and working perfectly.
