Anyone using QTS 5.0.0 on a TS-879 Pro?

Post by chipconnection »

Hi all,

I'm getting prompted to upgrade the firmware from 4.3.6 to 5.0.0. For the longest time QNAP said, nope, you have 2gb of ram. No upgrades, just security fixes. Now this is showing up. Anyone upgrade to 5.0.0 yet?

Thanks,

I don't have a TS-878 Pro but I run 5.0 on a TS-251 without any issues.

Hi John,

It is fascinating that you get that prompt. Before I dig up my machine, I have two questions:

- Is the "offer" to upgrade still there?

- Did you modify your machine? (I went to 16GB RAM and a Xeon processor instead of the i3 that came with it)

Thanks!

Hello,

Does anyone have QTS 5.0 on TS-879U-RP ? or it's impossible ?
The download page shows this OS is not available for TS-879U-RP.

Latest firmware offered for this model is still 4.3.6.1907 build 20220103, so I guess QNAP does not provide an update at currnet point of time.
Even QTS version 4.4 and 4.5 are missing, so most likely this model will not get a new firmware version.

Did you contact QNAP support for clarifying?
