Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
On my QNAP TVS672XT (main NAS) it was even worse with the TR-004. Whenever the TR-004 was only connected to my main NAS a memory leak (seems it is related to the USB driver in QTS 5) has emerged and the NAS memory just got filled up until the NAS was not responsive anymore and has eventually crashed. Still the same with QTS5 build 1891 from 21st Dec.
I've been in touch with QNAP support since Nov 2021 (a lot!) and they have monitored the behaviour on my NAS and created + downloaded some log dumps. They are obviously working on a fix but have no clue how long it will take. I currently can't directly connect the TR-004 for backups but I'm using an outdated old Macbook to connect the TR-004 and to provide a SMB share over my network for backup purposes - it works fine but is not my preferred solution as it is limited by network speed (1Gbit/s)

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
The firmware was automatically updated last night 27 Jan 2022 to version 5.0.0.1891. This was a 20211221 build?!? Anyway, this version of the firmware update seems to have fixed the TR-004 issue and has been stable over the last 6 hours. Give this a try. However, do take note of your last working firmware version in case you need to go back. Good luck.

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
One of my units automatically updated to 5.0.0.1891...
Still having issues with my TR-004 not finding my TR-004 or taking forever to find it.
And when suddenly it connects... it says that no disk inside my TR-004.
I'll be rolling back again to 4.5.4.1800

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
GRRRR! Mine apparently auto upgraded even though I swear I had it disabled.
Once again, my TR-004 is causing the system to be completely unstable.
Thanks QNAP for ignoring my wishes and screwing up my system, AGAIN! I don't need to be on the current firmware I don't have this device exposed to the internet, it's for local storage and now borked until I can (hopefully) downgrade!

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
Hi Guys,
Sorry about my last post. It seems the firmware upgrade only worked a few hours. The same problem just resurfaced, as it did previously after running for several hours. The TR-004 is again not recognised. Did I mention that my system auto-installed the firmware although I had disabled it? Anyway, I'm rolling back the firmware ...AGAIN!

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
same issue here spent the whole day on it before finding this forum, thanks guys for posting the issue. I ordered a new NAS and drives as I thought mine became faulty and I have critical work to do on it. THanks Qnap!!! I have been a user for 15 years and I swear every problem comes from their updated firmwares. it did it automatically in case anyone thought I upgraded it myself. I will be turning off automatic firmware updates from now on.

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
I just tested on a TS-873 and TS-673 and seems to be working and stable.
Hope they don't break it in a future update!

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
Hi Helder74, for the earlier firmware upgrades, TR-004 would be recognised for about half a day, then fail. So give it some time. Once its stable over at least a 24 hour period, let us know. Perhaps then it would be safe to 'go back into the water'!

Yes I knew about the half a day...landseer_sg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 9:42 am Hi Helder74, for the earlier firmware upgrades, TR-004 would be recognised for about half a day, then fail. I forgot to mention that my units where already working for 10h.... we have now reached almost 17h without issues!
So crossing my fingers and my cables!

Re: TR-004 drops after firmware upgrade to QTS 5
UPDATE
My TS-673 still running perfectly.
My TS-873 hang during shutdown 2 days in a row.
Both NAS are set to shutdown at 3ham and turn on at 9ham.
The TS-873 is still in Shutdown process with system trying to stop 12 processes....
And the first one on the list is the HybridMount.

Hi Helder74,
Seems that the problem is still with us if the TS-873 hangs during the shut down process. Have you tried the latest firmware 5.0.0.1932 build 20220129 ??? Supports says it fixes the issue, but I've yet to attempt it. No time to fiddle, you see.

I’m going to give 5.0.0.1932 build 20220129 a try today on my TVS-473. It is installing now and I’ll post back here with results.

Ran on this build for 1 day 8 Hrs so far without any issues. I just rebooted once and it went down and came back in a good state.RQtoTheNap87 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 12:17 am I’m going to give 5.0.0.1932 build 20220129 a try today on my TVS-473. So far so good. I’ll keep an eye on it and post back here if any issues arise.
