Post by PeeBee »

Hi All,
this is a weird Issue I had recently on remote session to login to qnap browsers Chrome or Firefox safari firmware version 4.5.4.1723 then Upgraded to 5.0.0. 1986.

Now when I am Logged in my home pc with local network ip address all is well with desktop screen .........but when logging in from work on my Laptop with remote ip address I get this corrupted screen.
I have reset cache in browsers no go.

any ideas to fix this would be greatly appreciated

Please describe what you mean with "remote login" ..I hope your NAS is not exposed to WAN!

Hi Dolbyman,
I use my router to Port forward so I can login remote from work and "allow connections only from this list" ipaddress' as per my work ipaddress with 2 step authentication with Admin account disabled

Then you should stop that immediately..neither changed admin nor 2FA will protect your NAS from exploits...a lesson many have learned the last year ..and paid with bitcoin or their files and many many tears

Never ever expose your NAS to WAN...use a VPN to access (does not cost anything)
