First time setup 10 Gb network

Post by agarwood »

Hello everyone

I have a QNAP TS-831XU-RP used to backup data, currently with 8 x WD 8 TB soon going to be upgraded with 8 x Toshiba 16 TB.

Since QNAP will be only accessed from the server, to improve performance and security I'd like to connect it directly to it.
This is my first time setting up a SFP+ network connection.
I have a Lenovo SR550, that I will expand with a LOM SFP+ network adapter (Lenovo SKU 7ZT7A00546).

I should also get a proper cable, let's say Intel XDACBL1M.

Is this it?
Do I need any transceiver, switch, or anything else?

Thank you.
