I have searched this forum and found several topics with this problem but none of the solutions worked for me. I have also searched google deeply and consider myself a med-level linux hobbyist.
My TVS673 v5.0.0.2055 cannot get to the internet even though the NIC can when I ssh to the qnap and ping 1.1.1.1 -- it works just dandy.
I decided to reset (nuke) the TVS673 with the following commands:
# /mnt/ext/opt/netmgr/netmgr.sh reset_all_settings_to_default
# /etc/init.d/network.sh reset_network_config_to_default
# /etc/init.d/network.sh clean-restart
# reboot
Thanks to a handy DHCP reservation I was able to reconnect to the admin 8080 webpage but the Network | Overview page shows my correct custom DNS entries but the "Current WAN IP" shows "--"
I have changed interfaces, nuked the network back to defaults and changed ethernet cables.
The network is a pepwave, simple flat 10.0.0.0/24 network and the internet is working just fine. The QNAP is plugged into one of the 4 pepwave's eth ports. Simple.
I can use the QNAP within the local LAN & WIFI using SMB/NFS and other network functions just fine.
The only problem is the QNAP cant get to the internet from its APPS, again ssh'ing into the eth1 can in fact ping the internet. Weird.
I have attached 3 photos for context - one of which is an error message that may prove to be interesting about connecting to itself.
Also - The eth1 auto-negotiates to 100Mbps even when hard pinned to 1000.
In one of the screen shots below, it has the GLOBE icon on the interface which the legend refers to as "Internet Connected." - but its not, why would I type all this up?
Also I have removed the Container Station, ALL virtual switches and the virtual machine app. I've stripped it down to the bare minimum to no avail.
