Due to a new situation, I may not be able to hook up the new NAS (TS-364) via Ethernet other than a "visit" for early installation.
It will be serving mostly as media storage with a direct Ethernet to an NVidia Shield TV and at times, reconnect to a Mac computer.
This is a temporary situation for a few weeks to 3-5 months.
I was hoping that there was a wifi dongle solution that could be used in the interim. Its main purpose would be connectivity to QNAP (apps etc. and firmware upgrades).
Is there any dongles that do work and if so, what steps are needed to get them working properly with the NAS. This NAS has 2x. 3.2 gen 2 USB A ports available on the back.
Also it will be working with an ASUS AX86u Router.
Any information and direction would be extremely appreciated. I know this is not an ideal set up but ...again, a temp work around.
thanks in advance!

Dont go with dongles (tons of issues with these), instead go with a wifi bridge (most range extenders with LAN port have a bridge mode)

I have no experience with adding a USB wifi device to a qnap NAS, but, there are other options.
A router in "media extender" or "media bridge" mode can be used to link wired segments via a wifi bridge. A power line adapter with a multiport switch may be an option for you as well.
I'm not saying the USB WIFI won't work, bit there are a number of other potential solutions that may fit your setup and needs better or you may have some hardware lying around that could be repurposed.

Re: USB Dongle for QNAP TS-364 - HELP PLEASE!
Thank you folks for the help. I am considering as suggested an addition to my wifi system so that I can plug the NAS into it. Turns out this might have other advantages if treated as a separate network with a couple of other devices that it would be lending service. The WiFi then would be strictly for updates and perhaps new NAS apps.
Btw an odd question - I have a fully functioning older NAS (559pro w 5 x 4tb drives) - where does one do best to find it a new owner via purchase from me?
