TS-h973AX 64 GB RAM Upgrade

Post by philm001 »

Hello all,

I have a TS-h973AX that I ma upgrading to 64 GB of RAM. I bought crucial RAM from this site here:

https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct32g4sfd8266

I have it all plugged in but when I turn on the machine, I only see 1 32 GB stick in the system and the second stick is not recognized. The sticks are good RAM because I tested them individually. What could be the cause of the issue?

2x32GB is the max supported
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/ts-h973 ... s/hardware

So your 64GB stick of RAM won't work (or do you mean you got 2x identical 32GB RAM?)

Not much we can do, QNAP Support probably won't help (3rd party RAM) and a user forum (like this here) can't do much.

Thank you for your reply,

These are not 1x 64 GB modules but 2x 32 GB modules from crucial (See link in original post)

Did you cross check the specs on the new and old modules to ensure all the specs (speed, ecc, etc) are all identical between the 2 sets?
