tvs-x72xt Sleep mode

Post by dwadj »

Hi all,

Could there be any chance Qnap will re-introduce the sleep mode on the current x072xt range?
Due to the higher energy prices it's maybe not a bad idea for a sleep mode overnight....

Use a power schedule if you want to send your NAS to sleep

Nas only supports Start and stop of system, the sleep is not there anymore ...
Or do you mean some special script?

Some models do not support a sleep mode.
BTW: for cost-saving sleep mode is the wrong decision, use shutdown (power off)!
Sleep mode only consumes hardly fewer power than running in operational mode.

Not really,

My previous tx-670 had a S3 sleep mode.
Equipped with 4 drives it did consume around 40 watts, when idling and doing basic tasks, more when doing harder stuff.
When Hdd's went into standby some 20 watts...
However when the Nas went into sleep mode it was only consuming some 3 Watts !
The benefit is you don't need to boot every time when it wakes up.... ready in 3 sec.
I really don't understand why they removed that feature on the X72 line.
