Seagate drive compatibility

Post by frozen »

I have 2 nas' that I am looking at upgrading the drives on.
A TS-431P and a TS-453Be
I am looking at the Seagate ST18000NM000J 18TB drives.

I checked the compatibility list and there are 3 18TB drives there from Seagate

ST18000NT001-3LU101
ST18000VE002-3BS101
ST18000NE000-2YY101

They seem to be the same if not more enterprise models

My Nas' are more for archive and they don't get a lot of traffic on them so I am not as worried about pounding them to death. Just wanted to see if there was another reason to be aware of. I have upgraded drives before and didn't pay too much attention to the compatibility list and have had no problems.

Thanks

Paul

Make sure you go with NAS drives and certainly stay away from SMR variants

Thanks for the tip. I checked and it is a CMR drive not SMR
