Hi my TS-869L needs more memory...its running in RAID 6 and transfer slowed down significantly when i changed from RAID1. Hoping more memory than the standard 1gb will give it more room to breathe with all the computations
so im very slow to the line for a memory upgrade for this...all the stores around me dont have any 2gb sticks anymore.
There is a 4gb Kingstone SO-DIMM ...DDR3L SDRAM - SO-DIMM 204-pin its here: https://www.ple.com.au/Products/645480/ ... 11-1600mhz
im guessing it will only see an additional 2gb, thats fine...i guess my question is...has anyone tried a stick with more than 2gb in the TS-869L and had it work? or am i going to be the first guinea pig i wonder
many thanks
Blackout

RAM will not help with lack of computing power...
Why do you think you are low on RAM? What speeds do you get?

file transfers used to be 100kb/s and have dropped to about 55kb/s since i moved to RAID 6...lots of small files copying across (jpgs etc) it could do with more RAM i suspect to buffer files better?

Running 4xTS-669 here, all with raid6. None of this devices suffers from such a transfer speed.
Average is 70-100MB/s,, so most likely any other misconfiguration.
Lets fix each after each (backup/network).

A raid is never a substitute for backup! Never!
