Lack of any information of the firmware and HD Station on place ... there is a QTS 4.2.1 Beta available for your NAS / this might or might not bring a new HD Station version *HD Station v3.1.0" here.

I suppose I could post a link...the worst that will happen is QNAP will remove my link. I am not responsible for anything this version does to your unit. This is what QNAP support installed and my unit is working fine (for the most part). There are a few other very minor issues, that weren't there before, but I am happy with this test version. I wasn't here to monitor what they were doing, so I can't be certain if they performed a few other maintenance tasks to get it to work.

So I have now purchased Crucial 1 x 8GB of RAM and the problem is the same, upon installation the HDMI port will not work. As soon as I re-install the 1GB it works fine.

This is a little annoying for using Kodi I really need the RAM upgraded, 1GB just doesn't cut it..

Can anyone advise what the problem may be or do I just have a dodgy NAS which should be returned?

Did you get any further with resolving your issue? I just bought a TS-251+ and am having the same issue. With the factory 2GB installed the HDMI works fine, but I bought 2x4GB Kingston sticks and with either or both of them in the HDMI doesn't work (though the NAS otherwise works fine).

Actually I just got mine working with the Kingston RAM by replacing the HDMI cable. Doesn't really make sense but that did it

I've same problem with my TS-251. It has always worked fine, till about a week ago, maybe when I upgraded to QTS 4.3.3

It works fine till HD Station has loaded, then I have to restart it everytime I turn off TV (or simply I change the input).
If I restart nas, I can turn off and on the tv or change the input, until HD Station is loaded.

I have QTS 4.3.3 and HD Station 3.1.A

2x4GB HyperX always worked correctly (from October 2015).
