Re: TVS-682 not outputting 4k@60Hz
So I ended up sending mine back, but please keep updating this thread as I will probably re-buy in a few weeks once this is all ironed out.

Looks like the August 15th Firmware release (4.2.2 build 0812 QTS 4.2.2 Build 20160812) included the following bug fix:
" - Fixed an issue where CEC-enabled devices would fail after connecting a NAS to one of these HDMI devices."
Anybody tried it?

Re: TVS-682 not outputting 4k@60Hz
HDMI3 2.0 port is just non-functioning for me with the latest firmware (8/23).
HDMI 1/2 running at 1.4 speeds work fine and gives me 4k@30Hz.
If you are reading this, I'd wait on buying the x82 series until engineering really sorts out the issues with that HDMI 2.0 port. It's unclear to me whether this is intel driver related or something else at play.

Thanks for the update. I ended up sending the unit back directly to QNAP and had to fight for 2 weeks with my re-seller and QNAP to actually issue the refund, but I finally got it, in full. I'm holding out right now, using my PC as my NAS for now, and have Plex running on it. If I see a good deal on a TVS-471 I might pick another one of those up.pisymbol wrote:HDMI3 2.0 port is just non-functioning for me with the latest firmware (8/23).

Did you try the firmware released on 8/23?

Has this been resolved? Looking to buy one of these but only if 4k@60hz is confirmed. Thanks!

Re: TVS-682 not outputting 4k@60Hz
Update:
Soooo...it looks like the culprit is indeed the i915 intel X11 driver. It seems Intel only currently supports 4k@60Hz in RGB mode, not YCbCr mode (component).
My Vizio P-series does not support 4k@60Hz in RGB, only YCbCr.
I am still finding out if Intel has any plans to support 4k@60Hz in YCbCr mode.
How many TVs, even new ones, support 4k@60Hz in RGB? Is it me or the way the x82 series is advertised as of today is kinda bogus if it doesn't work in 60Hz in YCbCr (by far the default mode for all HDMI enabled TVs).

And they took down their blurb about 4k@60Hz on this unit:
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/model.php?II=234
Sigh....now I'm not sure what to do.

Re: TVS-682 not outputting 4k@60Hz
So what does this mean? I have an LG OLED65B6P with a Pioneer Elite VSX 90 receiver that I'd be looking to pass video through via HDMI 2.0 on the TVS 682 (that I'm just about to pull the trigger on). What good is 4k video transfer if it can't make it to a modern TV. What am I missing? Should I be considering a different model? Video playback won't be the only reason I'm going with this model, but it's a big one.

Re: TVS-682 not outputting 4k@60Hz
Does the LG OLED65B6P do 60Hz in RGB mode via it's HDMI port? I believe it does if you enable UHD color? But verify that.
Bottom line: If it doesn't do 60Hz in RGB, you ain't getting it with the 682 series. I suspect QNAP is really on Intel's case on this since it has totally screwed up the marketing of this product right now.

It is very embarrassing to say the least.
I am told they are working with Intel to get some kind of fix.
