Hi
I have just bought two TS-251A. I can not get the RM-IR002 to work. Is there a setup thing? I can't find it documented anywhere. To me it seems like the remotes are dead. Are there any lights that should lit up on the TS-251A when I push the buttons on the remote?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Verifying the RM-IR002 remote control - newbee question
I don't believe the QNAP's have a flashing lights when the buttons are pressed.
One method I have heard about is using a phone camera to 'see' the IR light flashing. Not sure if it works with the RM-IR002 tho'

I used to be able to do that with my old iPhone 3GS. But it doesn't work on my iPhone 5. IR filter I guess.tombulum wrote:One method I have heard about is using a phone camera to 'see' the IR light flashing. Not sure if it works with the RM-IR002 tho'

I have never had any experience with any lights going off when I am interacting with my QNAP.tombulum wrote:I don't believe the QNAP's have a flashing lights when the buttons are pressed.
Is there even a model out there that does?

None that I have heard of.DarinC wrote:I have never had any experience with any lights going off when I am interacting with my QNAP.tombulum wrote:I don't believe the QNAP's have a flashing lights when the buttons are pressed.

One other idea is the use of an IR Infrared Remote Extender/Repeater.
I'm using one as my NAS is behind the TV. The receiver flashes whenever any remote gets fired at its general direction.

Re: Verifying the RM-IR002 remote control - newbee question
The remote extender is a good idea.
It would be a great way to troubleshoot the issue, but if you are buying more supplies just to check if a remote is dead, maybe you should try fixing the remotes.
I see the IR Infrared Remote Extender/Repeater as a good idea because now you get something that can help to answer this type of question in the future. And if the issue is not the remote you are that much closer to zeroing in on the problem.

Are you running QTS 4.3.3? I just upgraded from 4.2 and my remote isn't able to control HD Station anymore. Might be software related?
