Noctua PPC2000 Industrial Fan for TS-569 Pro

Post by rlsound »

Hi All,

The time has come to replace the fan in our TS569Pro, we were under the impression it was a three-pin fan from the tear down website. Surprised to open the QNAP and it's four-pin. The Noctua is a three-pin fan.

So I plugged it in to test and the NAS loses its configuration! It doesn't recognize the HDDs and the IP address reverts back to itself DHCP 169.xxx.xxx.xxx .

I plug the still-installed stock fan back in, and viola, RAID initializes, and we are back in business. This is absolutely bizarre. I don't care if the fan runs full tilt all the time, it's in a noisy enviroment anyways, but this shouldn't de-configure what's already been established shouldn't it?

Any ideas??
