Hello,
Today I added a HyperX Impact 8GB 1866MHz DDR3L CL11 1.35V RAM (HX318LS11IB/8) to my TS-453Be which already had a 4GB ADATA 1866MHz DIMM installed. It now shows 12GB usable under System Status and the box has been stable so far. Will monitor for a week to make sure all the scheduled and automated tasks run properly and the system is stable before giving final verdict.
Is it possible to use TS-453Be (TS-453B, TS-453BT3) with 16GB Ram?

Been more than a week now and the Qnap NAS is stable with no reboots or erratic behaviour. All scheduled tasks ran normally with no performance impact. Kindly note that you will only see the benefit of more RAM during high memory utilization activities like AV Scan or Media thumbnail generation to name a couple. Also if you plan to run containers/VM then the higher RAM availability will help.

Re: Is it possible to use TS-453Be (TS-453B, TS-453BT3) with 16GB Ram?
Two years ago I put a pair of 8GB Crucial DDR3L-1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11 into my 453B.
But two days ago it crashed and would not reboot, so I replaced the Crucial memory with the original AData 2GB modules and all has worked fine since.
QNAP confirmed a memory error, so my question is:
1) Does the latest firmware access the upper 4GB that the RAM modules were in or
2) Have the Crucial modules failed.
Is there anyone using the latest QTS 5.0.1.2173 firmware with 16GB RAM.
The error only occurs on rebooting, not in normal NAS operation.

I am also using TS453Be with 16 GB Ram since 3 years. I bought the 16 GB from speicher.de
https://www.speicher.de/arbeitsspeicher ... 66791.html
The price was about 70 Euro…
No issues so far…
Best regards,
Christian

I am still on 5.0.0.2131 build 20220815 and no issues with my 453Be using 16GB RAM https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L8C37DHjpqforum wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:02 pm Two years ago I put a pair of 8GB Crucial DDR3L-1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11 into my 453B.

Did your 8GB sticks worked with version 5.0.1.2145 build 20220903?

Mine only failed when I upgraded to QTS 5.0.1.2173. I don't know if the RAM is faulty or if QNAP are using the top 8GB of the 16GB sticks for other uses.liamtoh1 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 3:32 amI am still on 5.0.0.2131 build 20220815 and no issues with my 453Be using 16GB RAM https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L8C37DHjpqforum wrote: ↑Wed Oct 19, 2022 11:02 pm Two years ago I put a pair of 8GB Crucial DDR3L-1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11 into my 453B.

Yesterday, I updated to latest QTS version 20221001-5.0.1.2173 and found no issues with update/reboot (16GB RAM). However, I had a bunch of app updates after OS upgrade.
