TS 251 Backplane

Post by jattsta »

Hey guys,
My TS 251 (second bay) is no longer reading hard drives.
QNAP support have advised that the backplane is most likely the issue.
I'm out of warranty and this part is apparently $30 USD, plus shipping, plus checking and fitting.
They have advised that I'm better off getting a new unit :(

Does anyone know where I can get the backplane second hand?

Cheers

$30 is too much?

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
