Without knowing I'd say that it's extremely unlikely that it would work.
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!

A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.

All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!

Similar question:
Can I use a backplane from NAS TS-653 Pro (QW52 v1.1) on a similar TS-653A (backplane QX66 Rev 2.0 it's defected).
Motherboard in TS-653 Pro and TS-653A like's very similar.

Thx.

I have the exact same problem! I have a TS-653A with a defected backplate, out of warranty, and the cost for repair is insane!
I also have a TS-669L (The backplate it uses is the one for TS-659 Pro II. It is printed on the backplate.)

Can I use it for my TS-653A?

The problem is that I cannot find a replacement for my QX66 Rev 2.0...

Did you find any solution?
1x TS-653A (with defective QX66 Rev:2.0 backplate. Only first two sata ports working...)
1x TS-509 Pro (I broke it... I need a replacement working mainboard... Can anyone help?)
1x TS-453 Pro
1x TS-669L
1x TS-453A
1x TS-459 Pro+

- Qnap Storage, looking for repairs from all sorts of hardware/backplane problems. [ for reasonable prices ]
( but also Tektronix, Agilent, Keysight and many more.. Scopes, Logic analysers, dmm & more..)

@khronos i am particulair interested to have a look at your QX66 backplane. i am reverse engineering some other models. and as i am right they all fail a sort of same way.
( lets call it bad development). :-$

Same problem with a TS-453 Pro, for the moment I can't find (to buy) the same model,
Do you know any new model to buy, where I can plug my 4 HD in RAID-5 keeping the data ??
