I'd say, that I would like to have 4.5.1 pulled and get 4.4.3 upgraded to build 1444 for all platforms. 4.5.1 just has too much junk in it... Missing a lot of much needed stuff (bug fixes, gen9 CPU support) and added a lot of unnecessary ones (SSH console, apps lockdown). QNAP... get your priorities right.

Would this issue explain why my TVS-872N, with an Intel Gen9 i7-9770 wont load HD Station?

gpuhal_app -q gives an output of "count=0" but gpuhal_app -l shows the 9th gen intel GPU.

I tried downgrading to 4.4.3 but no go.

Any way to make a 9th gen intel work with HD Station in my TVS-872N?

As QNAP does not sell any hardware with the 9th gen Core CPU series, QNAP has not included the required drivers in their OS builds.

After upgrading the CPU in many QNAP NASs over the year I leaned to stay within the same Generation/family. Although some upgrades worked when I did them over time several ran into issues with apps / firmware.
QNAP does not test their firmware on CPU / hardware that is not theirs / in their supported hardware list.
I have had them flat tall me “tough” not their problem before…

Update:
On QTS 4.4.3 with the fake gpuhal_app that is referenced earlier in this thread, HD Station works and QVR Client works on my TV which is what I need it for.
On QTS 4.5.2 with the same fake gpuhal_app, HD Station does not load fully.

Verified that the output of "gpuhal_app -q" and "gpuhal_app -l" are the same in both versions. The -q command shows count=1,card1=0, and the -l command show "0:Intel Corporation:HD Graphics 500:internal:2"

I think its about more than including a driver from Intel. There are some home grown utilities like this gpuhal_app that QNAP appears to have done some blacklisting of 9th gen Intel CPUs. And HD Station has some hooks in its launch script into this gpuhal_app.

I wonder if QNAP ever intends to formally add support for 9th Gen Intel CPU's or newer, in any formally released products, so maybe the older ones that people upgraded can benefit (Like me with a TVS-872N with a 9th gen intel CPU). I'm basically stuck at QTS 4.4.3 until they do.

Their priorities are to support the hardware the sale. That do not market or sale the NAS as cpu upgradeable so they don’t test / support new generation CPU upgrades

Any ideas if this has been addressed in QTS 4.6, 4.5.3 or perhaps an update to HD Station or QVR Client?

My i7-9700 is working in my TVS-872N with HDStation on 4.4.3, but I'd like to upgrade.

On QTS 4.4.3 with the fake gpuhal_app that is referenced earlier in this thread, HD Station works, and QVR Client works on my TV, which is what I need it for.

I suppose I could test it myself but I dont want to go through the hassle of having to downgrade again.

Any ideas if QTS 5.0.0 supports 9th gen Intel CPU's?
