TS563 10Gbe from 10Gbe PC transfers Max 93MB/s
I have recently upgraded to 10 Gbe network for the sole purpose of transferring local PC Acronis 2GB multiple images to the QNAP with the equipment below:
TS563 16 GB RAM , QNAP QXG-10G1T Nic jumbo 9K, 2 x WD Red Pro 10TB NAS 3.5" - 7200 RPM non raid
Zyxel XS1930-10 10 Gbe switch jumbo 9K
Gigabyte mb Adata 4 x PCI express Lane with ASUS XG-C100C Nic jumbo 9K, soon to be replaced by QNAP QXG-10G1T Nic due to lack of W0L
I don't have a separate 2.5 GB connection to the Internet (even though that is available on the motherboard) as this file transfer is done occasionally say once a month and as multiple of 100 files 2GB so I didn't think it warranted it as I am on a 500 Mb/S virgin media contract from my ISP and I'm the only user on the network.
However I do use this PC watching my backed up Blu-ray movies hence the need for 10 Gbe for my media servers on the QNAP also.
My question is where is my bottleneck, is it not having any raid configuration or/and an old Adata SX8200NP SSD on the PC ?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Fr7bZ9 ... sp=sharing
I do get double the speed going the other way NAS to PC so is it a limitation of the hardware none raid configuration and size of the files I'm transferring?
Here is the black magic test
from the PC to the QNAP

PS. for some reason my BBcode image insertion isn't working Google Drive?

always attach pictures to the forum .. don't link them to 3rd party sites
why did you mention your internet connection ? .. should have nothing to do with your setup if it's a LAN2LAN transfer

Hi,
Forum couldn't determine the size of my images, 685 x 466 Size72 KB, 713 x 722 127 KB respectively, so wouldn't let me insert them so links seemed the only option, hence the last question.
I mention the internet for some context as to why I hadn't gone for two connections to the switch to separate the 1Gb from the 10Gbe, its not mission critical until my monthly scheduled PC to Qnap transfers.

Virgin Hub 4 => Netgear GS116v2 (1gb switch) => Zyxel 1930-10 switch 10Gbe => Gigabyte PC Asus 10Gbe nic => Qnap TS563 10Gbe
So was able upload other images so there's a better overall picture of what I was trying to explain.

Ok.. so the QNAP and the test computer are connected to the same 10GbE switch, that switch is then connected to a 1GbE switch.
Measured speeds also look ok, where do you see 93MB\s from the first post ?

And you made sure that both NAS and PC are connected with 10GbE speed to the switch ?
Also set the MTU back to default to test

Unless you do an all SSD volume, large sequential transfers do not benefit from SSD cache or Tier

Don't know if this is related but a new firmware update for the qxg-10g1t is out.
