I have an M.2 SSD which is being used as my cache. I cannot just replace it thinking that the system would just detect the change and re-initalize the drive as cache. Nope just just tells me that the PPOL is now degraded and there doesn't seem to be a means to just initialize it and add it. So I put the old drive in which is "heathy" but its life is now at ZERO %.
I must be missing a step. I cannot just bring up "Storage & Snapshots" and just "detach" the ZERO Life drive.
HELP!
TS-1685 M.2 cache needs to be replaced.

Re: TS-1685 M.2 cache needs to be replaced.
Never use a single drive for write cache.
The only way to replace it, is to remove the cache (data gets destaged) and then add a new one (from then on RAID1+ please)

Re: TS-1685 M.2 cache needs to be replaced.
It is "read-only" — I tried to just diable the cache but did find out through trial and error that I had to remove the cache altogether, then shutdown, swap the M.2 SSD and then add the read-only cache again. I am not testing.
Thank you for the link. I'll check that out now.
