Can't play videos via GPU passthrough

Post by subzero155 »

I have Nvidia 1060 GPU installed in my QNAP TVS-682.
I am trying to use the GPU on the VM passthrough. I have Windows 10 installed as a VM Although I can see the driver installed in Windows, videos play extremely slow if they play all, including YouTube videos. Also the sound is distorted and too slow.
The Nvidia GPU and Kernel drivers are installed from QNAP app centre.

I have tried to update/reinstall the Nvidia driver on Windows but this has not sorted out the problem.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Verify installed latest virtio drivers and have vm configured to use them for nw, hdd, etc.

Make sure enough Cpu & memory for VM (I run my win10 at 4x8).

I am using 32GB of RAM and i7 passthrough. Videos work well without the GPU.

unless you have swapped the processor, the i7 is NOT passthrough (because your nas either has a pentium or an i3)
