Hi
We have a 12bay NAS (TS-h1277XU-RP), how would we move a drive from bay 7 to bay 5? we dont have a spare, so we cant remove and re-install, we just want to move that drive.
In hardware RAID (LSI / AVAGO / BROADCOM) the system is powered down, the drive moved, then powered back on again, it reads the config of the drive to know its location, not the hardware cable. Is QNAP the same is if there a command to do this?

is there a reason you cannot power the unit down, move the drive, and power it back on? why does the slot location matter so much??
