TS-853U RAM & CPU upgrades

Post by mrsilva »

Hello,

2 questions on possible upgrades for the 853U:
- can I go over 8GB RAM?
- is it possible to replace the Celeron with a faster CPU with the same socket?

Thanks!

I tried a Crucial RAM CT2KIT102464BF160B 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz CL11 kit but it didn't work... maybe there are different revisions for the motherboards...

Did you ground yourself before touching any NAS parts ? .. if your are unlucky you killed your NAS by ESD

Besides a spontaneous LPC death or your device (fixable with a 100Ohm resistor) .. not much comes to mind (even more so as it worked before the RAM swap, so something happened there)
