Graphics Driver

Post by honkin »

I just wanted to check how one updates the graphics driver on a TS-451, or is that all looked after with firmware updates?

cheers

ah, I may have misunderstood what I read.

The machine is struggling to play h.265 encoded videos via the latest Kodi. A thread at the Kodi forum mentioned upgrading the driver of the graphics card to possibly help, so I was assuming the driver for the Intel GPU of the NAS.

I think Baytrail Graphics does not support x265 hardware decode

So forget the NAS as a player and buy a cheap android kodi box that supports it ...will work much better

cheers and thanks for your reply

The weird thing about your comment on support for x265 hardware decode is in Kodi Matrix 19.0, audio is fine, but the video is some odd fine pattern, yet when I went back and opened Kodi Leia up, it played the video, at least until half way through, when it then stopped, so not sure how that occurred

Will have a look at maybe something like the Skystream Pro 8k or something

cheers
