When changing QNAP NAS, can I just swamp the HDDs and be done?

When changing QNAP NAS, can I just swamp the HDDs and be done?

Post by chumbo »

Hi,
I intended to upgrade from one QNAP NAS to a better one and was wondering how hard or easy the switch will be?
Will it be possible to just pull out the HDDs from one and put them in the other, boot and...that's it?
Probably not, but I just wanted to know how much more involved it might be and what I'm in for.
Thx,
QNAP TS-251+ 8Gb, Windows 10 x64.
I'm a total noob when it comes to networking and security so please address me as if I were your grandmother
