Samsung 980 Pro in TVS-h1688x/TVS-h1288x?

Post by Thisisnotmyname »

Can anyone confirm that the 980 Pro works in the TVS-h1688x (or the 12 bay as I'd expect it would work the same in both)? I know it wouldn't be PCIe4 but generally PCIe4 is backward compatible with PCIe3 so hoping I can get the Pro architecture but with 2TB drives rather than 1TB if it is recognized by the system. I realize I'll only get PCIe3 speeds and that's fine. It's not listed on the compat page but hoping someone has tried it and can confirm or deny.
Thank you

Looks like maybe this is too specific a situation for anyone to have experience. I'll open it up to use of the 980 Pro in any other QNAP NAS. Anyone have experiences good or bad with the 980 Pros?
Thank you.

I guess no one has so I'll be the guinea pig. I've ordered some 980 Pros, worst case I'll find some other use for them. I'll report my findings.

Just circling back to report that they work. Only at PCIe3 speeds of course.
